Problem in Reading Hindi Font

In some cases you might not be able to read the text on this website properly because this website uses UNICODE for Devanagri script to write in Hindi language. If you are unable to read the content of this website -you would need to make a setting right in your browser and/or would need to install a Hindi font.



 If you are using Windows XP / 2000 / Me

  • Go to View menu of your browser and then to Encoding submenu
  • Select Unicode (UTF-8) option. Also, if available, uncheck the Auto Select option

By doing the above steps, you should be able to read Hindi language used on this website.



If you are using Windows 98 / 95

If you are seeing square symbols instead of proper text -then you need to install a Hindi font on your computer. To do so:

  • Download Hindi font file from BBC Hindi website. Click here to download
  • While downloading click on Run the program from its current location or Open as per the option provided.
  • Then click on I agree to accept the license agreement
  • This will install the Hindi font on your computer.
  • Re-start your computer.



If you are seeing round symbols instead of proper text - then do as instructed below:

  • Go to View menu of your browser and then to Encoding submenu
  • Select Unicode (UTF-8) option. Also, if available uncheck the Auto Select option

In case you are not able to read the text because left menu (परिभ्रमण) overlaps the page -you would need to change setting of your browser.



 If you are using Internet Explorer

  • Go to View menu of your browser and then to Text Size submenu
  • Select Medium option.
